Job Description:
Turner Construction, a national commercial construction management company, is presently seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources. Candidates must have at least a Masters Degree or equivalent and a minimum of 8-10 years of progressive human resources experience and have experience in the State of California, and be a human capital strategist. The position is responsible for planning, directing, and for ensuring quality operations all phases of human resources (e.g., employment, placement, and retention). Candidate must a) have the ability to source experienced candidates for placement and hiring consideration and create a network of potential new hires for future consideration as well; b) possess a proven ability to maintain college recruiting schedules as well as to develop meaningful relationships with multiple colleges and universities throughout the year; c) be able to facilitate and manage training programs; d) be able to manage all aspects of human resources, payroll, and benefit issues for employees.
The position requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization. Candidates should be able to demonstrate their ability to manage and administer company programs, policies and procedures, show that they are a self-starter and have strong management and leadership skills and are capable of managing projects and tasks successfully to completion.
PHR/SPHR Certification preferred. Construction industry experience highly desirable. Candidate must be flexible, willing to travel for recruiting and training events several times per year.
