Job Description:
A national construction materials trade association with a $8 + million budget located in a Silver Spring, MD (DC suburb) seeks a highly motivated, goal- and team-oriented individual to fill the position of Vice President of Finance and Administration (CPA Required). This position will be responsible for a division overseeing the monthly financial closure procedures, cash management, financial management reports, internal controls and audits, accounts receivables, and investment accounting, along with seamless preparation for the organization�s annual audit. A key function of the position is also to regularly analyze budgetary forecasts for the organization and provide recommendations to the president for enhancing performance, and revising financial forecasts and budgets. The position will also oversee activities of the administration department including the benefits plan for association employees, HR provisions, and IRS regulation of pension plans. Additional duties related to the activities of the association include acting as liaison to the organization�s Business Administration Committee and their financial industry benchmarking surveys, as well as acting as an instructor for the organization�s financial education programs.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or Business with a CPA required (must maintain continuing education in the field); seven to ten continuous years experience in progressively responsible positions in Accounting/Finance field; requires expert level experience in Great Plains (Solomon) accounting software; in excess of five years successful supervision of accounting personnel; not-for-profit association experience and strong knowledge of information technologies are pluses; computer skills Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint also required; Salary commensurate with experience.
