Requirements:
Bachelors degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited university.
Registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Michigan.
Ten years experience in hospital engineering department management.
Extensive background in JCAHO requirements, building codes, State Fire Marshall and Health Department regulations.
Extensive experience with construction project delivery methods, including working with architectural, engineering, and construction management consultants.
Ten years experience designing and managing major (>$5,000,000) construction projects.
Specific Duties:
1. Supports the mission statement of Munson Medical Center (MMC): Munson Medical Center is the core of a regional health system. Reports any unsafe situation/equipment according to Hospital procedure.
5. Prepares schedules for the design and construction of Hospital approved construction projects.
6. Provides project estimating and construction supervision for all in-house projects.
7. Develops budgets for the operation of Facilities Construction and Munson Engineering and Design.
8. Coordinates the activities of outside consultants, as assigned for specific projects. Acts as the Owner�s Representative to assure that Munson�s requirements are continuously met.
9. Prepares plans and specifications for in-house projects. Provides the required Engineering Seal to meet State regulations.
10. Acts as a technical resource for the Facilities Maintenance Department. In this capacity, may recommend repair and maintenance procedures, approve outside service contracts, prepare drawings and specifications, and supervise the startup of designed systems.
11. May prepare or supervise the preparation of construction documents for Munson Healthcare facilities, other than Munson Medical Center, as assigned. May also supervise the construction of those facilities. May prepare budgets for those projects.
12. Participates in community service activities, as requested.
13. Participates in the Engineering Department on-call rotation.
14. Attends Munson Medical Center Board meetings.
15. Provides staff support to the various Departments during the preparation of budgets.
16. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
