Job Description:
Thomas Jefferson University and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, a progressive and innovative academic healthcare center located in Center City Philadelphia, PA has a challenging and diversified opportunity available for the qualified candidate. This position reports to the Associate Vice President of Facilities Management, and will be responsible for the oversight of all planning, design, construction and renovation activity undertaken by the university and hospital, including the management of ten (10) employees and a budget of over $100,000,000.

The Director will be expected to manage a staff of project managers, architects, engineers, draftsmen and support staff in the implementation of the campus master plan, infrastructure upgrades, and other routine capital renovation projects. The preparation of budget estimates and prioritizing projects within budget constraints are integral responsibilities of this position.

Requirements for this opportunity include a professional degree in architecture or engineering with a related professional registration. A minimum of ten (10) years experience in the architectural or construction management field with emphasis in design, renovation and new construction management (preferably in an institutional environment) is essential. Successful supervisory experience and a working knowledge of real estate and financial planning are required.
