Job Description:
We are currently seeking a self-directed Business Development Professional who can work in a collaborative and team environment. This position will be responsible for the generation of new business opportunities and implementing maximum exposure to new business prospects for Harris with the A/E/C industry in the Pacific Northwest. This position will cultivate new opportunities for the firm through direct marketing and by visiting prospective and existing clients.
Position responsibilities include the following:
Building new business opportunities
Maintaining, expanding, and enhancing existing client relationships
Forging new relationships with prospective clients
Project lead finding and tracking activities
Improve and support client relationships
Build and support in the implementation of target marketing/client acquisition
Attendance to industry focused meeting and seminars to support the business development efforts
Assist Project Manager's representatives with lead generation
Management of the firm's overall business development efforts
Expanding clientele throughout the Puget Sound area
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Assist with proposal and statements of qualification preparation
Incumbent will have applicable knowledge in the following:
Principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling services
Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production Methods, and coordination of people and resources
Media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods
Incumbent will have applicable skills in the following:
Superior verbal, written communication and presentation skills
Problem Solving - using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Managing one's own time and the time of others
Negotiating effectively and efficiently to bring others together to reconcile differences
Incumbent will have applicable abilities in the following:
Proven track record of successful development implementation
The ability to come up with a number of ideas in generating solutions
The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
Ability to impact and influence clients, business community, and others to achieve business strategies
Ability to multi-task
Equivalent to a degree from a four-year university and/or college in the following: Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Engineering, Public Relations or other related field AND five years of experience with the above listed responsibilities OR eight years experience with the above listed responsibilities.
Experience with various software applications including: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) or any other presentation/database software.
