Job Description:
The successful candidate will be focused externally and will manage and perform business development activities for the Kansas City Office in the areas of structural engineering, civil engineering and structural diagnostics consulting. The successful candidate's duties:
- Coordinates the business development activities of the operating groups represented in the KC office
- Generates new prospects by developing and maintaining relationships with existing and/or new clients
- Continuously evaluates client relationships and markets
- Organizes development of business development plans
- Communicates business development results to operating group leaders
- Promotes firm's services in the local and regional markets through client entertainment, professional groups, cold calls.
- Coordinates prospective client meetings
- Actively participates in appropriate industry, professional and community organizations
- Coordinates development of proposals and presentations
- Helps plan, prepare and coach presentations
- May travel regionally or nationally to meet with prospective clients.

Education and Experience
A bachelor's degree is a minimum requirement. Advanced degree, or degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or related field a plus. Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communications, a demonstrable record of success and an established network of personal business contacts. This position requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
