"Help Wanted: Vice President, Development"



Construction Executive Job
Location:Metro DC/Baltimore/VA/PA
Estimated Cash Compensation: Unspecified


Job Description:
Responsibilities will be (but not be limited to) the following:
Manage existing development deals to successful completion.
Anticipate, plan and manage new deals in the pipeline.
Develop new business opportunities in the apartment market in our local region, and in PA.
Supervise & mentor Development Associate in PA region for Philadelphia based development deals.
Provide visible leadership in PA by visiting development sites and meetings 2-4 times monthly, or as needed.
Conduct detailed financial planning and analysis.
Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the multifamily market in the above regions.
Manage the approval processes with local governments.
Supervise and advise design professionals and consultants
Prepare and execute formal presentations for new development deals.
Perform quality review and control.
Monitor construction activities relating to assigned projects.
Work closely with construction teams, architects, engineers, etc. to build a cohesive team to complete development projects.
Special projects as assigned.
Maintain a role within the local Building Industry Association and participate in various events to maximize networking.

Requirements
B.S. Degree required. Masters Degree in Business, Real Estate Development, or a related field is highly preferred. Current enrollment in a desired Masters program will also be considered.
7-10 years experience in the Real Estate industry required.
5 years minimum experience in multifamily development req.
Proven supervisory/leadership experience required.
Ability to work well independently and take initiative.
Must be able to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and well-developed interpersonal skills.
Some travel required to PA region
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
Excellent organizational and coordination ability as well as effective follow-up skills a must.
Ability to research, interpret and compile analytical data desired.
Ability to prioritize/execute multiple tasks with efficiency and a sense of urgency.
Candidate must have strong employment references, and submit to/pass a complete background check.
