Job Description:
A proven track record of ten years or more as a financial leader (i.e. CFO, Controller, Senior Director of Finance) both technically and managerially, is required
- A working knowledge of information technology, both existing and emerging, is required
- A degree in finance or accounting or significant comparable experience is required. An advanced degree (i.e. MBA or CPA) is highly desirable
- Knowledge of the financial processes and requirements in the construction, real estate development, property management, construction financing, low income housing, or closely relatable fields, is highly desirable
- A proven ability to operate at the strategic level (i.e. strategic forecasting, planning and decision making ) in an enterprise, is required
- The ability to be collaborative and influential across all levels of the organization, including the Board of Directors, is required
- Accomplished written and oral communication skills, are required
- A high comfort level of working effectively with a diverse organizational population, is required
- A proven ability to develop, execute and monitor both organizational and department level plans and strategies, is required
- A demonstrated ability to motivate, coach and develop staff, is required
- A strong interest in Mid-Peninsula Housing�s Mission or strong

Expectations:
Represents MPH to outside lending institutions, insurance organizations, regulatory agencies and other non-profits. May be required to speak at public hearings or forums

- Has total oversight responsibility for the finance and accounting functions of MPH, both at the headquarters as well as the field locations. Assures policies, procedures and processes in are place to execute or report on any financial transactions or information
- Ensures that MPH is in full compliance with any municipal, state or federal regulatory or compliance requirements. Also ensures compliance with any MPH partnership agreements
- Coordinates, prepares for, and oversees organizational audits
- Responsible for the strategy, communication and execution of the yearly MPH operating budgets. Monitors the performance of the organization against the budgets and leads any required action to control or change the budgets.
- Assures financial transaction or reporting systems in use or planned within the organization have full and consistent user training and are periodically audited for their use and integrity
- Creates financial forecasts, models or analyses as needed or required to support both short term decision making or longer term strategic planning
- Responsible for the integrity, training and use of all internal and external reporting templates and statements. Provides written communication or analysis to support or explain financial data or information as required
- Manages and monitors the organization�s cash flow and working capital needs to assure funds are deployed at optimum levels. Manages the investment of available funds to deliver maximum returns in accordance with investment strategy of MHP
- Supports the President and Development Team to assure that comprehensive fiscal evaluations are conducted on all potential development projects
- Assures any financial instruments that MPH has in place or considers (ie debt instruments, loans, letters of credit) are comprehensively negotiated and consistently monitored for compliance
- Responsible for the overall risk evaluation and risk protection strategy and risk investment strategies for the organization. Leads and updates the disaster recovery plan for MPH
- Responsible for the Purchasing function for the organization. Assures there are processes in place to evaluate optimum vendor pricing and performance
- Responsible for the Office Management function. Assures overall administrative support for the enterprise is delivered with excellence and consistently tested
- Responsible for the overall information technology and systems strategy for the organization to include both evaluation and deployment of information systems based on user needs or requests, as well day-to-day support of information systems and users
- Is a key member of the organization�s Executive Team. Supports and provides leadership to the Executive Team on all matters pertaining to finance, accounting and information technology. Consistently evaluates levels of customer satisfaction in these areas from Executive Team members
- Assures the CFO team is well trained, motivated and developed and consistently maintains the highest levels of teamwork and partnership with other functions within the organization
