Job Description:
The Waterhill Company is seeking a highly qualified individual for the position of Vice President of Construction. Position entails managing multiple builders/superintendents, subcontractor relationships, closings, purchasing department, land development, and general construction management. The Waterhill Company specializes in the construction of soft contemporary Patio Homes and Town Homes in the City Of Houston. Position requires 3-7 years of construction management experience. Prior experience is also required in both production building and semi custom residential construction.
Additional Duties:
Maintains construction services staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
Develops land by preparing best-possible lots; complying with, overcoming, or modifying state and municipal regulations; obtaining utilities; maintaining erosion control; coordinating product design.
Builds subcontractor relationships by negotiating contracts; maintaining productivity, quality, and cost controll through purchasing department.
Improves quality results by directing facilitation of process improvement with in the orginization; monitoring implementation of recommendations.
Maintains safe work environment by establishing and enforcing safety policies and procedures; ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
Maintains disaster preparedness by establishing and enforcing disaster preparedness policies and procedures; identifying business operating requirements; monitoring preparedness.
Achieves financial objectives by scheduling and monitoring expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action.
Maintains continuity among construction department, and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
