Job Description:
Under the direction of the CEO / President, this position is responsible for leading, managing, directing, evaluating and developing the facility management team in such a manner to ensure the achievement of the financial, safety, customer relations, and quality goals.
This individual is the highest-ranking manager at the facility level. He/she is charged with the overall success of the facility. All operational aspects of the business are his/her responsibility regardless of the direct or dotted-line reporting structure of the company with the exception of sales and marketing. The ability to bring the management team together to resolve issues and achieve goals is in the hands of the Director of Operations.
Must be able to meet all minimum standards within 90 days.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Oversee and lead manufacturing, distribution, and project management to deliver exceptional safety, customer service, quality products, and productivity levels.
- Insure that all plant assets are properly managed and safe guarded.v
- Prepare the production schedules to direct and focus the activities of the entire team.
- Takes actions necessary to provide the appropriate manufacturing support to achieve the annual, quarterly and monthly sales objectives established by the Sales group and to ensure that the factory is meeting customer expectations and needs.
- Establish production rates to meet contractual completion dates, support the Sales activities by providing competitive delivery dates, and at the same time, meet the profit, quantity and service goals of the company.
- Make certain the factory has the necessary capacity, resources, staffing and controls to achieve optimum efficiencies.
- Orchestrate the factory response to critical delivery, quality, and service challenges, issues and problems.
- Motivate the factory staff to continuously improve the operations for which the Director of Operations is responsible.
- Conduct weekly meetings with managers to ensure common focus and objectives and to review and take action on critical issues.
- Evaluate and analyze financial statements prepared by controllers, with MRC to identify and address areas for profit improvement. Monitors expenses, reviews P&L; and Production Summaries/Reports to budget and initiate corrective action as required.
- Complete special projects as required and as assigned by the CEO/President.
- Prepare weekly reports to management.
- Supports Modtech�s Safety policies and programs by taking the lead in setting and meeting safety goals/initiatives and enforcing support of such by all Department Heads.
- Other duties as assigned.
Secondary and Support Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in developing capital expenditure recommendations.
- Supports the Sales/Estimating function by providing new and revised project schedules on an �As Needed� basis.
- Lead, manage, direct, evaluate and develop direct report departments/sections and their respective managers and staff to ensure the achievement of the goals/objectives established for the facility.
- Coordinate the activities of these various departments to ensure a unified and efficient response to projects, problems, opportunities and challenges.
- Partners with indirect report departments (Human Resources, Accounting, Sales/Marketing, I.T.) to assure departmental objectives and requirements intertwine with facility operations and goals.
- Communicates openly to foster collaborative efforts to drive quality service and excellence.
